Craft a bouquet of beautiful carnations with a simple dimensional flower punch.
Instructions
STEP 1:
To Create Petals: Punch two white and two red 12” long petal boarders with the carnation punch. Glue one red and one white row of petals together using the stick glue on the bottom petal strip. Stagger all the petals so the red and white petals can be seen. Repeat procedure as carnations require two sets of glued staggered petals. Let dry.
STEP 2:
To roll carnations place stick at the bottom of one petal strip. Roll 2” of petals around stick. Secure strip to petal roll with hot glue. Remove petal roll from stick and continuing rolling until strip is completely rolled. Secure with glue. Take the second petal strip and hot glue where the first petal strip stopped on the roll. Continue rolling the second strip around the roll. Secure end with hot glue.
STEP 3:
Carefully place the carnation roll on the stick. Put a drop of hot glue in the center of the carnation to bond the paper to the stick. Bend the center petals together to hide stick.
STEP 4:
To Create Calyx: Punch two green card stock circles from the 2” scallop circle punch. Pierce each with the plant stick to form hole in center. Slide the first circle up the stick. Place hot glue throughout the bottom the flower roll. Press the green circle against the carnation bottom. Gently bend the sides of the scallop circle round the carnation and secure with hot glue. Take the second scallop circle and slide up stick hot glue under 1st circle.
STEP 5:
To Create Leaves: Cut the remaining 2 scallop circles in half to create leaves. Place one leaf about 1 1/2” under flower. Roll end of leaf around plant stick. Unroll and repeat step hot gluing in place. Glue another 2 leaves onto the plant stick leaving a 1/2” space between each leaf.
STEP 6:
Continue making flowers until desired amount has been created. The most efficient procedure would be to cut and punch all pieces then assemble.
STEP 7:
To create sticker picks simply hot glue embellishment to plant stick from back side. If desired remove stick from embellishment with power tool.
STEP 8:
To make the glitter hearts cut three hearts using the pattern enclosed from the red paper. Mix together the Pearlescent, hot pink and red glitter to make your own custom blended color. Hot glue each paper heart to a stick. Cover the paper heart with a thin coat glitter glue. Sprinkle the glitter over the glue and tap excess glitter off. Stand in a cup or vase to dry.
STEP 9:
Glittering Tip: When glue has completely dried tap heart again to remove all loose glitter. Spray the glittered area with hairspray let dry a few minutes and repeat. Hair spray will help bond the glitter from falling off.
