A Spotted Canary Project by Spotted Canary Creations

27 January 2012

Craft a bouquet full of bright Gerber daisies, and sprinkle in a few eggs and bunnies to create the perfect Easter centerpiece.

Instructions

STEP 1:

To Create Gerber Daisy Center: Punch a hole in the center of a 3-D dot. Insert the hole of the 3-D dot onto the end of the plant stick. Remove release paper from 3-D dot. Put a small drop of hot glue on the end of the stick to secure 3-D dot. Place one Parcel rosette on top of the glue drop to form center. Set aside.

STEP 2:

To Create Gerber Daisy Petals: Punch one 3” scallop circle. Repeat the exact procedure used to create the center petals. With scissors make cut between each scallop. Cuts should be approximately 1/8” long. Avoid deep cuts as it will affect the integrity of petals. Slide up stick and hot glue under center. Form petals into a cup shape by cupping between hands.

STEP 3:

To Create Calyx: Punch 1 scalloped circle from green paper. Pierce the center of the circle with a plant stick to create a hole. Soften the calyx by working paper between fingers. Slide the calyx up the plant stick and secure under the flower with hot glue. Finesse the flower’s shape by sculpting with hands.

STEP 4:

To Create Leaves: Punch two green cardstock retro flowers. With scissors separate the petals in pairs, connected at the bottom. One flower will yield two leaves and one single petal. Bend the two petals in half around plant stick. Hot glue together to form leaves. Repeat step to make two additional leaves. Hot glue leaves to stick approximately 1/2” apart.

STEP 5:

To create egg and bunny picks simply hot glue embellishment to plant stick from back side. If desired remove stickiness from the back of embellishment with powder tool.

STEP 6:

Continue making flowers until desired amount have been created. The most efficient procedure would be to cut and punch all pieces, then assemble.
